Loring Park Community

The Loring Park neighborhood hosts a number of ever-popular events and festivals.  The Basilica Block Party, the Loring Park Art Fair, and Pride Festival highlight the list, drawing tens of thousands of people each summer.  Other events include a National Night Out Block Party, Winterfest, and Music and Movies in the Park.  Residents of the Loring Park area value their unique, historic neighborhood and work hard to keep it alive and thriving through organizations such as Friends of Loring Park, Loring Greenway Association, and Citizens for a Loring Park Community.

The park itself is 35 acres of greenery.  Its amenities include a bandstand, basketball court, tennis court, off-leash dog park, picnic area, and the Garden of the Seasons.  A Nice Ride Bike Rental kiosk is conveniently located on the park’s border from April through October. Twin Cities Metro Magazine named Loring Park number two of the 30 best and most livable neighborhoods in the Twin Cities, noting its superb mix of commercial, residential and institutional properties.  Fine restaurants, churches, schools, and businesses co-exist in a historic locale whose biking paths and accessible metered parking make it equally friendly to pedestrians, bikers, drivers and transit riders.
